Dear Mr. Telfer,

I have fasted from media and even cut out a lot of what I used to watch from my life, as in Disney Channel and some TLC

shows. The result: Wisdom. When I cut out the Disney Channel I noticed I had a better attitude towards my family and a closer relationship with God. I have now cut out a lot of music and movies also. While I was away from the TV God taught me a lot and even opened up my eyes to many things. He gave me wisdom to be able to start a couple of blogs for Him. I have now been away from a lot of media for five months now, until recently when I sat down to watch a Disney Channel show to see what my siblings were interested in.

To tell you the truth I do not miss TV at all! I actually feel free when I’m not watching it. In these last few months of not watching TV I have started writing a couple of books, read books, and started a blog, and I’m going to be even starting a ministry soon called “Generation Caspian”!

I think the biggest notice I have ever had of media is how people respond and act after watching or hearing… etc. I have noticed that the action in the media, such as video games/movies, like you said at your talk, it’s increasing in violence. I have heard many of my friends say “I guess I’m more mature then most because I can handle more violence then such-and-such and such-and-such” I, many times think, how can you be more mature in viewing someone being killed or murdered? You can’t. It’s not maturity, it’s something else.

All in all I can say a lot more on this but, as long as this email is I will close this up with these verses…
